These are great shoes. They look fantastics and are very comfortable. The initial wear is a little stiff, but they quickly formed my feet. My feet are also used to wearing these kind of shoes. I buy a new pair of Clark's every year!
my favorite shoe! always get compliments everywhere i go!
Classic looking shoe.
My husband loves these very comfortable and sylish
I'm very happy with these boots. They fit perfectly. I will definitely be putting some saddle soap on them though.
Great shoes. Good for a casual work environment, but then you can also go cut wood with it.
These shoes get better with age hoever the heel makes it easily to slip if u live in areas of elevation
These Clarks were even nicer than I expected. I didn't realize they had the pattern inside the actual shoe and it adds a nice touch to the boot. Super comfortable and good looking. Wearable with almost any outfit.
Had them for 5 years, bought new one...
I have worn these boots for about 5 months and love them. They've been my go-to pair for the whole time, having more wears than all the rest of my shoes. Although the crepe sole has become almost completely black, they still have much life. The rest of the shoe is holding up great. And yes size down at least 1/2 size for a good fit.
Awesome and really comfortable. This is my second pair of these. The first ones I bought were leather. I love the Oakwood Suede and will definitely buy again. The crepe sole is super comfortable too.
Look great, just like the pair I used to wear in the 60's. Cuts a little into my instep which limits my all day wear.
These are a great boot at a very nice price, although they do run a bit big.
Some things to be aware of:
- You'll want to treat them with some Mink oil or similar before your first wear
- They may take a few hours to break in a little bit - mine were quite stiff for the first several days, and I only wore them for an hour or two at a time because of this. Wearing them for an entire day at the beginning may be uncomfortable.
- Go ahead and get a set of replacement laces. Mine broke within a couple of months, but replacement laces are pretty easy and cheap, and they are going to last longer.
- The soles will darken pretty quickly. It's okay. The nice thing about these (and other quality boots) when the soles wear out or get damaged you can get them resoled!
- Enjoy!
Best boots ever. Wore in perfectly. I get tons of compliments on them. I have a feeling I'll be wearing these 10 or even 20 years from now.
I bought the Clarks in Oakwood suede. They look fantastic. The leather is not as soft as it is on my 1883 Wolverines, but still softer than any work boot. The suede looks great and will be getting protected with Allen Edmonds suede protector.
The leather is soft enough to be comfortable and flexible from day one, but the foot bed is not cushy at all. The crepe gum sole is not as soft as you would expect, but that should help with the durability a bit.
I found the fit to be spot on. Many claim they are a size too big, which is what people claim on every pair of boots I've even bought. These were spot on for me. I buy 11.5 in everything from sneakers, to dress shoes, to boots and these were the same.
What's not to love...Clarks are just timeless and great shoes...
